1st Initiative As part of our supplemental outreach initiative KGGF-KUSN co-hosted Southeast Kansas Job Fair held April 1, 2009 from 1 pm – 6 pm on the campus of Coffeyville Community College.

The station employment unit participated in the planning, recruitment of employers to attend and promotion of this event with area co-sponsors including the Southeast Kansas Human Resources Association, Montgomery County Action Council, Kansas Works and Coffeyville and Independence Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to all of the above organizations, more than a dozen other area employers had representatives at the job fair.

Station personnel were on hand to disclose information regarding the Radio Broadcast Industry and answer any questions, possible future employees might have.

Activities to fulfill: In continuing with our supplemental outreach initiative, KGGF-KUSN plans to co-host, organize and participate in a job fair in conjunction with the Montgomery County Action Council and Kansas Works, during the next EEO reporting period. This job fair is still in the planning stages but the tentative date and location is September 8, 2010 at the Independence Community College Sports Center.

KGGF-KUSN is working with Cheryl George, guidance counselor with Field Kindley High School. We are setting up an internship program that will begin September 2010. This will be an on-going program that students will participate in both first and second semesters of every school year.
